So far, everybody I speak to about JRebel is satisfied with it - frankly, I cannot believe nobody thought of JRebel before.
I have been very impressed with JRebel, wish I had come across this product a lot sooner, would have saved me so much time/boredom waiting for so many container restarts.
I see JRebel as this "missing piece" in the whole picture where we could see Java-stack not only as a stable, well-tested environment to build applications on but also as a rapid development environment.
Setting up JRebel was completely painless and my questions on the support forum were answered quickly. The performance gains were immediately obvious to us, so after the evaluation period was over we decided to purchase licenses for all our developers.
JRebel has transformed a nightmarish 10-minute modify, compile and debug cycle to a matter of seconds. Thanks for giving me back my sanity.
JRebel is really an amazing tool.
Saving time with JRebel is so amazing. No more redeployments... Refactoring classes, Refresh the page and that's it! Amazing stuff!
It's so good I sometimes forget that I'm using a crappy toy OS (Windows) on poorly spec'd hardware with a painfully slow app server rather than Tomcat on OS X.
Our normal build-deploy cycle would take about 25 seconds. On average, JRebel saves one developer from 10-12 builds per hour. That's roughly five minutes per working hour or 30-35 minutes a day per developer.
I like the way [JRebel monitors] the file system for changes and smartly reloads Java changes into Hot Swap/Hot code memory. It just eliminated by build time during development by 90%.
To whomever tells me 'I don't have time to lose trying to use JRebel', I would say 'You're actually losing time by NOT using it'
Why isn't JRebel part of the standard Java SDK?
