ZeroTurnaround to [Gently] Harrass Industry Analysts at Gartner Symposium ITxpo

Barcelona, the city that brought you tapas, Gaudi and dentists open until 10pm, now brings you Gartner’s Symposium ITxpo 2012. This gathering of 5,000 attendees is hungry for new IT solutions, so we decided to send forth a small-but-great team that includes our CEO and Founder Jevgeni Kabanov, President & COO Alex Laats, Director of Marketing, Jeremy Lopez and Head of RebelLabs, Oliver White.

What do we hope to accomplish at Gartner’s Symposium/ITxpo this year?

  • Meet a whole new crowd – This is one of the few times that we’ll be spending more time with directors and executives rather than developers and operations staff about how JRebel & LiveRebel can support, and improve, their entire Java application lifecycle and deployment pipeline
  • Hang with Gartner analysts – We like to talk a lot about Continuous Development and Delivery. Although there are supposed to be over 100 analysts present, we will still do our best to talk to every single one…which is about 20 hours of straight talking (note: prepare refreshments)
  • Collect feedback from management – We often ask folks on Development and Operations teams about the tools and technologies that they use, which of them increase/decrease efficiency, how they spend their day and what keeps them up at night. Now we’ll pose the same questions to their managers and directors and see where things stand in terms of productivity, processes and tools in the organization as a whole.
  • Have you met RebelLabs? – Gartner Research and RebelLabs, ZeroTurnaround’s research and content division, both share a similar vision: to produce valuable, interesting and insightful research reports and analysis on topics that our markets want to see. So what if Gartner produces about a hundred billion times more output than our small team here? ;-)

One of our primary goals is to sure every attendee who has Development or Operations teams back home can get free trial licenses of  JRebel and LiveRebel. We’ll also bring some new members of our brochure family: Pragmatic Continuous Delivery and Developer Productivity Report 2012 (you can download them beforehand too!). And yes, there have been rumours that some small marketing gifts might find their way into our luggage too.

We will be in the Emerging Tech Pavilion so come spend some time with us if you are around :)
